BATON ROUGE – With preparations for the 2017 season already underway, members of the LSU Track & Field coaching staff are now accepting applications through Wednesday, July 27, from all aspiring college cross country and track and field stars wishing to take part in fall tryouts for the men’s and women’s teams.

Athletes who would like to earn a tryout with the LSU Cross Country/Track & Field program are asked to email trackandfield@lsu.edu by the entry deadline on July 27 with information including name, email address, phone number, gender, event or events, personal-best marks, high school name and year of high school graduation.

In order to try out, athletes must be enrolled full-time (12 hours) at LSU-Baton Rouge for the fall semester, have a minimum LSU grade-point average of 2.0 and not be on scholastic warning or probation.

Tryout applications will be reviewed by LSU athletic department staff following the July 27 deadline with approved applicants receiving an email from the coaching staff with additional information on the process to try out for the team. Not all applicants will receive an invitation to try out for the team for the 2017 season.
