LONDON – Isaac Makwala, after qualifying for the men’s 200m final here #London2017 World Championships, said: “I’m still running with my heart broken.”

“I wish the IAAF had given me the decision to run the 400m first. I was ready to run. I don’t know who made the decision. 400m is my reason for training. I’m running with anger. 400m is my race. But thanks to the crowd, they were amazing.”

Makwala was forced to run twice in the day, first alone in a special race where he had to get 20.53 or lower to make the semi-finals. He ran 20.20 and returned about two hours later to run 20.14 in the semis.

“I put everything on God after what happened yesterday,” he said after being barred from entering the Stadium facilities.

“Thanks to IAAF for letting me run today,” he added.
