MANCHESTER, Great Britain – Kim Collins has said he has reduced his competition schedule partly to spend more time with his family, informs Athletics Weekly.
“I used to be away for four months in summer and two months in the winter. And being away from home for six months per year is hard. But it’s less these days,” Athletics Weekly quoted Collins as saying.
“The schedule is not what it was a few years ago as some meetings have been cancelled due to financial reasons,” said the 2003 World champion.
Collins beat world bronze medallist Trayvon Bromell in the 100m at the Great City Games but said he wasn’t surprised to beat an athlete who is nearly half his age.
“Your age does not matter when you are on the start line. I have been training for this and I know what my body is capable of.”
