Kingston College (KC) and Excelsior retained their Corporate Area Championships titles after two days (4-5 March) of stiff competition at the National Stadium.

KC finished on 507.5 points, well clear of Jamaica College (JC)< 427 points. Calabar had 335.5, while Wolmer’s and Excelsior, 132, rounded off the top five boys’ teams. KC won 17 of the 45 finals, while JC pocketed 15. KC also were responsible for six of the nine records that fell on the boys’ side on Saturday’s final day. Bouwahjgie Nkrumie, Kenyan Nahashon Ruto, and Nyron Wade were among KC’s record breakers.
Nkrumie ran 10.40 seconds to set a new Class 1 boys’ 100m record, while Wade’s record of 11.10 came in the Class 3 100m final. Ruto captured the Class 3 boys’ 800m in a new meeting record of 2:01.64.
Jamaica College won the 4x400m open in a record 3:09.96. St. Vincent and the Grenadines national Handel Roban set a new Class 1 boys’ 800m record for JC by clocking 1:49.53.
On the girls’ side, Excelsior ended with 429 points, 113.5 more than Immaculate Conception on 315.5. Wolmer’s, 248.5, The Queens School, 224, and St. Andrew High, 104, round out the top five schools.
Immaculate won all four 100-meter finals, with Gabrielle Lyn topping Class 1 in 12.09; Mickaila Haisley, the Class 2 winner, in 11.95; Shevi-Ann Shim taking Class 3 in 12.07 and Kedoya Lindon, the Class 4 in 12.16.
Shim completed the sprint double when she crossed the line to take the 200-meter final in 24.99.
Gabrielle Matthews of The Queen’s School was also a double winner, claiming the Class 1 girls’ 100-meter hurdles in 13.71 seconds and the 200 meters in 24.38.
Excelsior won the 4x400m relay in 3:54.66 and the medley relay in 4:30.25.
