Hansle Parchment (JAM)
DOB: 17/06/90
EVENT: 110MH
PB: 12.94 – ranking No. 10 all time
Major accomplishments:
Olympic Games, 2012, bronze, 13.12
World Championships, 2015, Silver, 13.03
World University Games, 2011, Gold, 13.24

A student in Psychology at the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Parchment, the national record holder at the time, had the disappointment of being sent home with an injury from the 2016 Rio Olympics and was unable to defend his bronze medal from the previous edition in London. That was the first time any Jamaican had medalled in the event at that level.

However, he would have been heartened by the fact that his countryman, Omar McLeod took the gold medal. With a legal season best of 13.35 at the Shanghai DL, he is anxious and will be striving to attain top gear in time for the end of June London World Championships Trials.
