World 400m champion and record holder Dalilah Muhammad is one of the biggest names for Tuesday’s (25th May) USATF Invitational in Prairie View, Texas.

Muhammad, who ran 52.16 to win the Doha 2019 world title and set a new world record in the 400m hurdles, will be joined by several Jamaican and Caribbean athletes.

She opened her season at this same venue on 3rd April. She ran 24.36 in the 200m, 53.77 in the 400m and helped her team to 3:33.64 for second in the mile relay. Muhammad’s last outing was 24.00 seconds run in Waco on 17th April.

Several Caribbean athletes are down to compete.

In the men’s 100m, Jerod Elcock and Keston Bledman of Trinidad and Tobago, Ramon Gittens of Barbados, Jason Rogers of St. Kitts and Nevis, Mario Burke of Barbados, Chavaughn Walsh of Antigua and Barbuda.

Americans Michael Rodgers and Jeff Demps will also run 100m.

The women’s 100m will have Americans English Gardner, Tianna Bartoletta, Brianna Duncan, and Candyce McGrone.

Jamaicans Odean Skeen, Oraine Palmer, Johnny Thompson and Javon Francis are down for the men’s 200m. Also in the event will be Mario Burke, Kyle Greaux and Jerod Elcock of Trinidad and Tobago.

As usual, the women’s 100m hurdles will see a great line-up. Jeanine Williams of Jamaica will face former American Olympic champion Dawn Harper-Nelson, in heat 1.

Rio 2016 Olympic bronze medallist Kristi Castlin will run in heat 2, while Sharika Nelvis and Queen Claye start in heat 3.

Shane Brathwaite of Barbados will face the starter in the men’s 110m hurdles against several Americans.

Kanika Beckles of Grenada, Shiann Salmon and Chrisann Gordon-Powell of Jamaica, and Ashley Kelly of the British Virgin Islands will be in the women’s 400m.

Gordon-Powell’s heat 3 has some big names – former world 400m champion Phyllis Francis, Natasha Hastings, Madeline Jonathas, Muhammad.

Francis will also run the men’s 400m. Also in the men’s 400m will be Trinidad and Tobago’s Deon Lendore and Renny Quow.
Gil Robert and fellow American Kahmari Montgomery will also join the party.

Jamaican Jzamine Fray and Sade Sealy of Barbados are in the women’s 800m.

In the women’s high jump, Priscilla Frederick-Loomis of Antigua & Barbuda is down to compete.

Damar Forbes and Ryan Brown of Jamaica, Tyrone Smith of Bermuda, Holland Martin of Bahamas, Andwuelle Wright of Trinidad and Tobago will be in the men’s long jump.
