Shericka Jackson wins the women's 200m in Jamaica trials 2022

Shericka Jackson delivered a huge personal best and world-leading time to win the women’s 200m at the Jamaica trials on Sunday (26 June) at the National Stadium.

Jackson, in an amazing display, led off the curve and stretched her lead in the last 50 meters to take victory in 21.55.

She missed Jamaica’s national record of 51.53, set by Elaine Thompson-Herah in 2021.

Thompson-Herah trailed off the curve but finished strong to take second place in 22.05. Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce took third place in 22.14.

In the men’s 200m final, Andrew Hudson took the top spot in 20.10 ahead of Yohan Blake, 20.31 and Nigel Ellis, 20.41.
