LUZERN, Switzerland – Jeffery Gibson produced a Bahamian record to win the men’s 400m hurdles at Tuesday’s (14 July) Spitzen Leichtathletik meet here in Luzern (Click here to Watch the Race).

Gibson, the Commonwealth Games bronze medallist, crossed the finish line in 48.77secs.

He first set the national record in 2013 when he ran 49.39secs in Eugene and lowered it to 48.78secs at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014.

Annsert Whyte, Jamaica’s national champion, finished second in 48.95 while Jeshua Anderson of USA was third in 49.08.

Meanwhile, Bahamian Bianca Stuart was a fourth place finisher in the women’s long jump with 6.31m. American Funmi Jimoh with 6.53m won the event.
