Two of the most powerful men in the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA), president Dr. Warren Blake and Honorary Secretary Garth Gayle, are on separate slates for positions on the Jamaica Olympic Association (JOA) executive.

According to media reports, Dr. Blake will be running for the post of first vice president on Vishu Tolan’s team while Gayle enters the race on Christopher Samuda’s team as second VP.

Tolan is currently the first vice president of the JOA while Samuda is Secretary General.

Also on Tolan’s team will be Martin Lyn, former Amateur Swimming Association of Jamaica head as second VP, Treasurer Compton Rodney, Marva Bernard as Secretary General.
Dr Praimanand Singh, Ali McNab and Stephen ‘Bomber’ Jones going as directors.

Jamaica Bobsleigh Federation boss Chris Stokes is on Samuda’s team as 1st Vice-President, and Alan Beckford as Secretary General.
Samuda’s slate also has Nichole Case as Treasurer.

Raymond Anderson, Laurel Smith, Robert Scott and Yvonne Kong are running for the positions as directors.

The elections are set for June 27. Mike Fennell, who served 40 years as president, decided he would not return.
