KINGSTON — Danielle Williams qualified with the fastest time from the women’s 100m hurdles semi-finals on the fourth a final day of the 2018 Jamaica National Senior and Junior Championships on Sunday.

Williams of TRS easily won the first semi-final heat with a time of 12.68 seconds, easing up as she crosses the finishing line.

The 2015 IAAF World Championships gold medal winner dragged Yanique Thompson of Sprintec with her into tonight’s final.

Thompson, the Commonwealth Games bronze medallist this past April, clocked 12.74 for second place, while Shermaine Williams, the sister of Danielle, was third in 13.12 and Oweneika Watson of Adams State took fourth in 13.47.

All four women advanced to the final.

Semi-final heat 2 saw Jeanine Williams of Georgia Tech winning with a personal best effort of 12.79 secs, beating her previous mark of 12.89.

Nickiesha Wilson ran 12.93 for second place in the heat, with Janeek Brown of the University of Arkansas taking third in 13.09 and Megan Tappeer of MVP getting fourth in 13.22 to advance as well.
