PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad and Tobago – Machel Cedenio and Michelle-Lee Ahye are the National Association of Athletics Administrations’ (NAAA) of Trinidad and Tobago top male and female athletes of 2015.

Cedenio, who last week copped the 18th Annual T&T Olympic Committee (TTOC) Male Award, won because of his performances for Trinidad & Tobago at the Pan Am Games and World Championships.

He anchored T&T to gold in the 4x400m at the Pan Am Games and bronze at the World Championships in Beijing.

Cedenio ran a personal best of 44.36 and was a finalist in the men’s 400m at the Beijing World Championships.

Meanwhile, Ahye won the Senior Female Athlete of the Year award after playing an integral part of the women’s 4x100m relay team that won bronze at the IAAF World Championships in Beijing China last August.

It was Trinidad and Tobago’s first to medal at the World Championships in the event.

Ahye was the first in 2015 to dip under 11 seconds, 10.97 (season best) at a meet in Florida in March. She also ran a personal best of 23.37 in the 200m.

Sprinters Akanni Hislop and Khalifa St Fort, the World Youth 100m silver medallist, were voted youth Athletes of the Year respectively.

In the junior category, long jumper Andwuelle Wright and shot putter Portious Warren came out on top.
