Thompson vs Felix vs Schippers and dramatic fights for Diamond Trophies
BRUSSELS – The 39th AG Insurance Memorial Van Damme, the final meet of the 6th IAAF Diamond League, will decide the diamond winners in 16 events (but Ibarguen and Perkovic just need to compete). Action of the Brussels Diamond League will be LIVE at the upabove links.
Live Memorial Van Damme Diamond League as athletes competing in the King Baudouin Stadium will vie for double points in the second of the two annual finals. The women’s 200m brings a fascinating duel between world 400m champion Allyson Felix and the top two from a very fast world 200m final Dafne Schippers and Elaine Thompson.
The men’s 800m will be another event to bring top athletes together from different events, with specialists Nijel Amos and Aman Tuka taking on 1500m world champion Asbel Kiprop.
In the men’s sprints, Justin Gatlin will hope to finish his Diamond Race campaign with a bang after his Beijing disappointments in a double possibly similar to last year. The men’s shot and women’s 100mH are two events in which there are joint DR leaders heading into the final stage. As in past years full house is expected with plenty of additional events and show elements.
