The world of athletics has much to offer in 2023, with three global championships and numerous one-day meetings.

These events will bring renewed rivalries and the opportunity for record-breakers to push the limits of their respective disciplines. Some standout athletes to watch include Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, the current world 100m champion, Shericka Jackson, who will defend her 200m title, and Elaine Thompson-Herah, the Olympic sprint double champion.

Gone are the days when the top sprinters avoided competing against each other. Fraser-Pryce, Thompson-Herah, and Jackson are all expected to participate in the women’s 100m and 200m events.

In addition, 200m specialists Noah Lyles and Erriyon Knighton have a history of exciting head-to-head battles. We will likely see more of these high-energy sprint duels in 2023.

Overall, the coming year promises to be a thrilling one for athletics.
