Nickel Ashmeade, silver medalist in Friday night's (26 June) men's 100m final, was at the top of this morning's (27 June) men's 200m prelims result chart with a winning time of 20.47s. The wind reading was 0.9m/s.

Young talent Julian Forte (20.55s) and Rasheed Dwyer (20.57s) are the best next on times.

Olympic bronze medalist Warren Weir, who was second in his heat behind teammate Mario Forsythe (20.61), was 7th overall with a time of 20.77s. 

The semi finals which is scheduled for tonight at 7:50pm will see 16 men vying for a spot in the finals on Sunday June 28,2015. 

The women's first round will be also tonight.
