POINTE-A-PITRE, Guadeloupe – Some 10 world and Olympic Games medallists will be in action at Saturday’s (12 May) Guadeloupe International Meeting.

American Allyson Felix headlines the 14th staging of the meet.

Felix won 2012 Olympic Games 200m title to add to her three victories at the World Championships level (2005, 2007 and 2009). Felix, the 2015 world 400m champion, said she is looking forward to a good a race.

This will be Felix’s first trip to the French overseas region, which has caused a ripple of excitement and fans on the island. Each year the stadium is packed with fans of all ages who eagerly support Track & Field.

Four Jamaicans, Senoj-Jay Givans, Schillonie Calvert-Powell, Oshane Bailey and Megan Tapper, are also down for the meet.

Calvert-Powell faces Felix, along with Trinidad and Tobago’s pair of Khalifa St Fort and Michelle Lee Ahye in the women’s 100m.
Tianna Bartoletta, London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympic Games 4x100m relay gold medallist, is also down for the event.

Bailey and Givans will face-off with Americans Mike Rodgers, who is aiming for a world-leading time, Bryce Robinson and Blake Smith.

Canadian Aaron Brown is also listed for the event.

Tapper, formerly Megan Simmonds, takes on a strong women’s 100m hurdles field, which includes Rio 2016 bronze medallist Kristi Castlin and Kori Carter, the World 400m hurdles champion.
