Four Jamaicans Set for Major Women’s 100m Clash at Silesia Diamond League

Jamaica will have a major presence in the women’s 100m at the Silesia Diamond League on Sunday, August 23, with four athletes named in one of the strongest sprint fields assembled in 2026.

Shericka Jackson, Tina Clayton, Tia Clayton and Brianna Lyston will carry the Jamaican challenge against a field that includes world No. 1 Melissa Jefferson-Wooden, Olympic champion Julien Alfred and American star Sha’Carri Richardson.

Jackson brings the strongest lifetime mark among the Jamaicans with a personal best of 10.65 seconds. She has run 10.81 this season and is ranked sixth in the world.

Tina Clayton has also produced one of the better seasons among the Jamaican sprinters. She has clocked 10.85 in 2026 and enters Silesia ranked No. 3 in the world.

Tia Clayton has a season’s best of 10.91, while Lyston has run 10.94. Their inclusion gives Jamaica nearly half of the nine-woman field.

Jefferson-Wooden, Alfred and Richardson Add to Loaded Field

Jefferson-Wooden leads the world rankings and owns a season’s best of 10.78 and personal best of 10.61. Richardson has been slightly faster this season with 10.77, while her personal best is 10.65.

Alfred, ranked second in the world, enters with a season’s best of 10.87 and a lifetime best of 10.72.

New Zealand’s Zoe Hobbs and Poland’s Ewa Swoboda complete the field. Hobbs has run 10.93 this year, while Swoboda has a season’s best of 10.98.
