DOHA, Qatar – Mario Burke is very disappointed after crashing out of the men’s 100m at the 17th IAAF World Athletics Championships Doha 2019.

Barbadian Mario Burke, 10.31s, Cejhae Green of Antigua, 10.33s, and Hakeem Huggins of St. Kitts and Nevis, 10.62, were Caribbean sprinters who failed to make progress.

“I was a little disappointed it didn’t come out the way I wanted to,” he said of his first-round performance.
“I just felt flat during the race,” he added.

Looking forward to the 2020 season, which will have the Tokoyo Olympic Games, Burke said he plans to “hit the offseason training as little harder.”

American Christian Coleman leads the way with 9.98 (+0.1 m/s).
Akani Simbine (10.01); defending champion Justin Gatlin (10.01), Yohan Blake (10.06) and Great Britain’s Zharnel Hughes (10.08) are the fastest qualifiers.
