The Motonet GP Lahti, a World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze meeting, is set to take place Wednesday in Lahti, Finland, with a strong field across multiple events.
World champion Keshorn Walcott tops the men’s javelin entry list, making him the name to watch in one of the meet’s marquee events. The Trinidadian will face Ukrainian thrower Artur Felfner, along with a deep group of Finnish competitors. Oliver Helander leads the home contingent, joined by Topi Parviainen, who won the European Under-18 title in 2022.
The women’s 100m hurdles shapes up as a competitive battle between two American athletes and two Finnish runners. Gabbi Cunningham and Amber Hughes will go up against Finland’s Lotta Harala and Saara Keskitalo in what should be a closely contested race.
The women’s long jump and hammer throw also feature interesting fields. Marthe Koala of Burkina Faso and Hungary’s Petra Bánhídi-Farkas headline the long jump, while the hammer brings together Finland’s Krista Tervo, Italy’s Sara Fantini, and Ireland’s Nicola Tuthill.
Several other athletes round out a well-built entry list across the track events. Briton Hannah Brier is entered in the women’s 200m, while Kenya’s Purity Chepkirui lines up in the women’s 1500m. South Africa’s Mthi Mthimkulu will compete in the men’s 200m, and Canada’s Foster Malleck is set to race in the men’s 1500m.
Morocco’s Mohammed Tindouft enters the steeplechase, and Salif Mane of the United States is listed in the men’s triple jump.
