The college women’s 100m final at Saturday’s (15 April) Tom Jones Memorial Invitational Meet in Florida was a thrilling race, with some impressive performances from the athletes, mainly from Julien Alfred and Kevona Davis.
Julien Alfred from Texas took first place with a blazing time of 10.72 seconds, aided by a tailwind of +2.4 m/s. Kevona Davis from Texas finished in fourth place with a time of 10.93 seconds,
Rosemary Chukwuma from Texas Tech finished in second place with a time of 10.85 seconds, followed closely by McKenzie Long from Ole Miss in third place with a time of 10.92 seconds. Talitha Diggs from Florida took fifth place with a time of 10.96 seconds.
Ezinne Abba from Texas rounded out the top six with a time of 10.99 seconds, also aided by a tailwind of +2.4 m/s.
Overall, it was an exciting race with impressive performances from all of the athletes, but it was Alfred who ultimately emerged as the winner with the top time.
The college men’s 100m race was also a thrilling event at the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational Meet in Florida. Terrence Jones from Texas Tech emerged as the winner, clocking an impressive time of 9.91 seconds with a tailwind of +1.0 m/s.
Courtney Lindsey, also from Texas Tech, finished in second place with a time of 10.04 seconds, followed by Amir Willis from Florida State in third place with a time of 10.08 seconds, aided by a tailwind of +0.2 m/s.
Finally, PJ Austin from Florida took fourth place with a time of 10.09 seconds, with a tailwind of +1.0 m/s.
