Yazmine Wright of Oklahoma also advanced to the final after finishing second in the heat with a time of 4:45.12. Sivan Auerbach and Krystal Rodriguez, both from Oklahoma State, and Charlotte Wood of West Virginia, also qualified for the final after finishing in the top four in their respective heats.
Billah Jepkirui of Oklahoma State won her heat in a time of 4:50.46. Maddie Salek and Mikaela Lucki, both from Oklahoma State, also qualified for the final after finishing second and third in their heat, respectively.
