- Shericka for Silesia, no Commonwealth Games
- Clayton is among 16 to defend titles in Cali
- Jamaica women 4x100m result and the blame game – Oregon22
MONACO (29 July) – Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Shericka Jackson are due to go head-to-head in the Monaco Diamond League on 10 August.
Bahamian World 400-metres champion Shaunae Miller-Uibo is down to contest the one-lap event. She will run the 200m four days earlier against Shericka Jackson at the Silesia Diamond League.
That also means Shericka Jackson looks unlikely to compete at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
Renowned Jamaican journalist Andre Lowe tweeted: “Reports surfacing that world 200-metres champ Shericka Jackson will withdraw from the Commonwealth Games.
Team manager Ludlow Watts says he has not received any indication of a withdrawal and expects Jackson to arrive in Birmingham as scheduled. He will, however, make checks.”
Jackson is booked for the Silesia Diamond League on 6 August, four days before the meet in Monaco.
Sydney McLaughlin is the undisputed queen of the 400m hurdles and will return to Monaco for her pet event.
Among the men, confirmation from Noah Lyles, a regular at the meeting. Lyles is coming off an impressive 19.31, a new American record, which it took to win gold at the Oregon22 World Athletics Championships.
Grant Holloway will again blaze over 110-metres hurdles.
