Interesting names from the Jamaican scene will compete in the Velocity Fest 10, a World Athletics Continental Tour Challenger Series Meeting, on Saturday April 2 at the National Stadium.

In the men’s 100 meters, European champion Zharnel Hughes faces former world champion Yohan Blake, sub-10 runner Tyquendo Tracey, Antonio Watson, and Akeem Blake.
Olympic relay medalist Stephanie-Ann McPherson is in the 200 meters, along with Anastasia Le-Roy, Jura Levy, Jodean Williams, Melaine Walker, Ronda Whyte and Roneisha McGregor.
Shericka Jackson and this year’s fastest 100-meter sprinter Anthonique Strachan are listed for the women’s 400 meters, as are Candice McLeod, Rushell Clayton, Tiffany James and Yanique McNeil.
Other athletes will appear in their specialties: Janieve Russell and Junelle Bromfield will run the women’s 400-meter hurdles; world champion Tajay Gayle is scheduled for the long jump, while Shanieka Ricketts features in the triple jump.
Fedrick Dacres and Traves Smikle are down for the discus, while the women’s event will have national record holder Shadae Lawrence. Chad Wright and O’Dayne Richards are in the shot put.
