Olympic Games 400m champion Steven Gardiner wins big in Doha 2019, wins at Blazer Invitational
Steven Gardiner is an Olympic champion sprinter from the Bahamas. He is known for his prowess in the 400 meters event and has achieved notable success on the international stage, including winning the gold medal in the men's 400 meters at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and Doha 2019 World Championships.

Four Olympic gold medalists lead the group of stars that will compete in the first edition of the Puerto Rico International Athletics Classic, set for Thursday, May 12, 2022 from 6:00 p.m., in the new athletic track at the Francisco “Paquito” Montaner Stadium in Ponce.

The event, which has WACT Silver designation, features stars led by top local name Jasmine Camacho-Quinn in the 100 m hurdles, Ryan Crouser in the shot put, Steven Gardiner in the 400 meters and Christian Taylor in his comeback from injury in the triple jump.

Puerto Rico will also be represented by Olympians Wesley Vázquez, Ryan Sánchez and Andrés Arroyo in the 800 meters.

The competition will be dedicated to Ponce native Javier Culson, the bronze medalist in the 400-meter hurdles at the London 2012 Olympic Games and two-time world championships runner-up in Berlin 2009 and Daegu 2011.
