Olympic 800m champion Caster Semenya plans to continue with the 200m “no matter what” the Swiss courts decide, informed Sports 24.

“That’s decided; we’ll stick to 200m no matter what. We don’t care about any other decision-making.

Semenya won Olympic Games 800m titles in London 2012 and Rio 2016. She also won three world titles in Berlin 2009, Daegu 2011 and London 2017.

Semenya lost her testosterone case against the IAAF in CAS ruling.
The decision announced by CAS on May 1, 2019
, means that the double Olympic champion will be forced to reduce her natural levels of testosterone to compete in distances from 400m to the mile.

She explained her reason to stick with the 200m.
“We will do what we can control now, which is the 200m. That’s the race we’re going to focus on the entire season, and we do not care about any other stuff. 200m it is,” she said.

Semenya clocked 23.80 and 23.49 in two early-season 200m races in South Africa.

The Olympic 200m qualifying standard is 22.80.
