Organisers of the Racers Grand Prix are hoping to find a new date in August for their World Athletics Continental Tour Gold Meeting.
On Monday (7 April), Glen Mills, who is meet organiser, announced the postponement of the 13th June event.
“It is now clear that our only choice is to postpone the date of this year’s meeting of the Racers Grand Prix – Kingston Continental Tour Gold meeting,” said Mills.
Wayde Van Niekerk and Noah Lyles along with Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Elaine Thompson-Herah, were just a few of the over 200 athletes who have expressed an interest for the event.
“We are now hoping to be able to reschedule the meeting for a date in the latter half of August. Of course, this is subject to the agreement of World Athletics, in keeping with your overall schedule,” added Mills.
The coronavirus, which has killed over 76,370 worldwide, caused many events to be postponed or cancelled in the last three months.

Imagine lining up for the start of the 100m and somebody coughs!
I think the meet should be cancelled as it may end up being like an All-Comers meeting with only locals participating. I seriously doubt the novel coronavirus will die out everywhere before summer for athletes to continue training and be in any shape to perform near their optimum.

That would be great! ?????
