Joella Lloyd has bettered 2 World Age Group Records in the 2017 season.
At the 1st of the Antigua Barbuda Athletic Association (ABAA) Development Meet Series on January 15th, 2017, the Carifta 2016 U18 Girls 100m bronze medalist ran 37.90 in the 300m to eclipse the World Record for 14 Year Olds of 37.98 held by Jóna Bjarnadótte of Sweden.
She then returned on the February 12th to blaze to an impressive 23.40 in the 200m, surpassing the previous mark of 23.43 set by Angel Perkins of the USA in 1999.
Unfortunately though, the YASCO Complex is not an IAAF Certified surface so the previous Records remain.
“We at the ABAA, however, are super proud of Joella’s feats and are working on getting her to attempt those times before she reaches the age of 15,” according to the statement.
