RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil – Bahamian Shaunae Miller will lead three other Caribbean women into the 400m semi-finals on Sunday evening here at Rio 2016.
Miller qualified easy from heat 5 with 51.16.
“The race went good,” said the 2015 World silver medalist.
“The race went right, I just thank God for it and I’m just excited to see where God takes me in this competition,” she added.
Jamaicans Stephenie-Ann McPherson (51.36), Christine Day (51.54) Shericka Jackson (51.73), all heat winners, advanced to the semis.
World champion Allyson Felix of USA ran 51.24 to cruise home in first place in her heat, while her teammate Phyllis Francis recorded the fastest time of the heats, 50.58.
