Powell finishes 6th, Riley, Barnes win at Texas Invite

Former World 100m record holder Asafa Powell was a 6th place finisher at Saturday’s (11 April) Texas Invitational in Austin.

Powell ran the one lap event and crossed the line in 48.20 seconds. Christopher Irvin won the event in 46.46.

Meanwhile, Andrew Riley and Winston Barnes were Jamican winners at the meet.

Barnes won the men’s 100m in 10.38 seconds ahead of fellow Jamaican Senoj-Jay Givans 10.46.

Riley topped the 110m hurdles field in 13.56 ahead of Spencer Dunkerley-Offor 13.78.

On the women’s side, Laverne Jones-Ferrett of US Virgin Islands finished 4th in the women’s 100m in 11.65 and 6th in the 200m 23.55.

Jamaican Patricia Hall 23.47 and 51.95 were 5th and 2nd in the 200m and 400m respectively.

Morolake Akinosun 11.37 won the 100m ,

 And 200m 22.70 while Regina George topped the 400m in 51.89.
