MADRID, Spain – Kaliese Spencer, the world leader in the women’s 400m hurdles, will headline a list of Jamaicans down for Saturday´s (19 July) IAAF World Challenge meet in Madrid municipality of Mortalaz.
The meet, which will be staged on a new track, will also see
Jamaican Christine Day, who has so far recorded a personal best in the 400m this season.
Stephanie McPherson and Shericka Williams, also members of MVP Track Club, will join Day in the women’s one lap event.
The meet is also expected to have other high quality athletes – Ronnie Ash, who will compete for first time this year in Europe over 110m hurdles against Cuban Orlando Ortega.
Gil Roberts will start the 400m as favorite, Walter Dix and Wallace Spearmon to battle in 200m, and US Barbara Pierre in women 100m.
World indoor champion Ryan Whiting is the star in the shot put.
