The Auburn track and field team collected six event wins on Day 2 of the War Eagle Invitational at Hutsell-Rosell Track, bringing their two-day win total to nine.
Sophomore sprinter Natalliah Whyte ran the fourth fastest time in school history running a 22.55 to win the women’s 200m dash. It was the fastest 200 ran by an Auburn woman in 11 years and makes her the fourth fastest nationally this season.
Auburn started off the day with a strong performance in the women’s 4x100m relay as the team of Renee Shaw, Jonielle Smith, Dominique Bullock and Whyte ran a 44.03 to bring him the gold.
Junior Ivana Muzaric captured gold in the women’s discuss event with a mark of 50.44m/165-06.
In the men’s 100m dash, sophomore Raheem Chambers claimed first place with a run of 10.40. On the women’s side, Jonielle Smith finished second in the 100m dash with a time of 11.28. Junior Xavier Coakley ran a 14.03 in the men’s 110mH to collect a second place finish.
Sophomore All-Americans Akeem Bloomfield and Nathon Allen took home first and second, respectively, in the men’s 400m. Bloomfield ran a 45.68 while Allen finished right behind with a 45.92.
