Sprinters Natalliah Whyte and Cejhae Greene were the only Caribbean winners at Wednesday’s (July 2) Folkstam Grand Prix in Karlstad, Sweden.
Jamaican Whyte won the women’s 100m in 11.58 seconds ahead of the Swedish pair of Claudia Payton, 11.84 and Daniella Busk, 11.93.
Greene of Antigua and Barbuda ran 10.27 seconds to beat Jamaican Julian Forte, 10.48 in the men’s 100m. Michael Bentley, the other Jamaican in the field, was eighth in 10.74 seconds.
Commonwealth Games gold medallist Fedrick Dacres threw 65.43m but had to settle for second behind Sweden’s Daniel Ståhl, who recorded 68.93m.
