Olympic champion Keshorn Walcott has joined the 90-metre club. The Trinidad and Tobago athlete, on Thursday (9 July) at the Lausanne Diamond League, threw the javelin 90.16m to top the field (Video Below).
The mark is a national and meet record, done in the first round. His previous best was 86.43m, which he set in Birmingham last month. He passed all but one of his remaining throws.
Walcott’s new mark was the second-longest throw for 2015 behind Julius Yego of Kenya 91.39m and the greatest distance ever achieved by any athlete from the western hemisphere.

Vitezslav Vesely (CZE) continued his consistent season with 87.97m for second and has a big DR lead. Tero Pitkamaki (FIN) did 87.44m for third.
