The National Association of Athletics Administrations of Trinidad and Tobago (NAAATT) has sent "big hearty congratulations to our ladies on a job well done in the 4X100m relay finals" at the 15th IAAF World Championships being held in Beijing, China (Aug 29).
On the day, August 29, Team T&T produced two National records and a World Championships bronze medal and ninth on the ALL time world list for the 4X1.
In the heats, earlier in the morning session, the quartet of Kelly-Ann Baptiste; Michelle Lee Ahye; Reyare Thomas and Khalifa St.Fort, finished behind USA in heat 2, in a New National Record of 42:24 to qualify for the final.
In the evening session, Semoy Hackett replaced St. Fort on the team, which lowered the mark to 42:03.
"Congratulations must also go out to the coaching staff of Dr. Ian Hypolite, Mr. Ato Boldon and Mr, Gunness Persad, who worked closely with the athletes in achieving their goals," a release from the NAAA said.
"Well done Team TTO, you have made us proud," added the release.
