CARDIFF (GBR): Former top British 200m runner Christian Malcolm could make his final track appearance in Wales at the Welsh Athletics International at Cardiff on July 15, report the BBC. After missing out on selection to the Commonwealth Games, the 35 year old is considering retirement. He will race the 4x100m in Cardiff.

KRASNODAR (RUS): Two-time Olympic medallist and 2011 world champion in heptathlon Tatyana Chernova became a mother. Her baby girl Anna (3.49 kg and 57 cm) was born on Thursday. “Both mother and girl are doing well. Tatyana aims to perform in Rio 2016 since she has enough time for preparation,” said her husband Vitaliy Smirnov, two-time decathlon Olympian and current director of athletics development centre in Krasnodar region. 

MOSCOW (RUS): Russian anti-doping agency (RUSADA) started investigation concerning violation of doping rules by race walk Olympic champion Yelena Lashmanova. President of All-Russian athletics federation (ARAF) Valentin Balakhnichev noted that some ARAF’s representatives would be included in special commission. The IAAF already have received official request from RUSADA with inquire to give them information for investigation of Mordovian race walk Olympic preparation centre’s work.
