Edwin Allen High students Tia Clayton and Serena Cole won the junior women’s 100m finals at Jamaica Junior and Senior Championships on Friday (24 June).

The event, also called Jamaica Olympic Trials, saw Tina Clayton taking the U20 girls’ 100m final in a personal best of 11.25 seconds. She won ahead of Kerrica Hill of Hydel, 11.43.
Clayton’s twin sister, Tia, finished third in 11.60.
Cole, the Champs long jumper winner, topped the U18 girls’ 100m final in 11.42, also a personal best. Alana Reid of Hydel finished second in 11.62.
Alicke Cranston of STETHS was the fastest boy on the day. He won the U18 final in 10.37 ahead of Bouwahjgie Nkrumi of KC, 10.47.
Sandrey Davison of St. Catherine was the U20 boys’ winner in 10.43. He beat Andrew Gillipps of St. Jago, who was credited with the same time.
J’Voughnn Blaker of JC ran 1:50.40 to win the U20 boys 800m final. Jessica McLean of Edwin Allen topped the girls’ section in 2:08.78
Jaydon Hibbert of KC leapt 7.34m to win the U18 boys’ long jump final.
Ackelia Smith of Edwin Allen, with 6.01m, took the girls’ U20 long jump.
Cedricka Williams of Holmwood threw 53.42m to take victory in the U18 girls’ discus final.
