Mikel Thomas and Lalonde Gordon won gold medals for Trinidad and Tobago on Saturday’s 2nd day of the 2015 NACAC Senior Championships in San Jose, Costa Rica.

Olympic Games bronze medallist Gordon took the top spot in the men's 400m, his time 44.89. He was slower then the semifinal (44.64 Championships Record), but finished away ahead of Costa Rican Nery Brenes 45.22 and Jamaican Ricardo Chambers 45.37.

Thomas topped the field in the men’s 110m hurdles. He crossed the finish line in 13.23 ahead of Cuban Jhoanis C Portilla 13.30 and USVI’s Eddie Lovett 13.31.

"It's truly an honor & blessing to be your NACAC champ in a MR13.23. All honor & glory to God," said Thomas on social media.

Jamaican Bobby-Gaye Wilkins-Godden 52.45 was third in the women’s 400m, won by American Courtney Okolo in 51.576. Kala Funderburk, also of America, was second in 52.22.

Trinidad & Tobago's Michelle-Lee Ahye had to settle for 3rd in the women’s 100m, her time 11.22. Americans Barbara Pierre 11.12 and Charonda Williams 11.21 were 1st and 2nd respectively.

Barbados’ pair of Ramon Gittens 10.11 and Levi Cadogan 10.13 finished 2nd and 3rd respectively in the 100m final, won by American Remontay McClain 10.09 (-0.1m/s wind).

American Lolo Jones won the women’s 100m hurdles in 12.63 ahead of her teammate Tenaya Jones 12.68. Barbadian Kierre Beckles was third in 12.88. The wind reading was 4.1m/s.
