Steven Gardiner and Trevor Berry, both from The Bahamas, secured wins at the 2018 Kamila Skolimowska Memorial in Chorzow, Poland on Wednesday (Aug 22).

In the men’s 400m, Steven Gardiner, who was running his first race since May 20, topped the field in 44.43 seconds. Karol Zalewski of Poland, 45.32 and American Christian Taylor, 45.34 took the minor places.

Barry cleared the high jump bar at 2.27m for his victory. American Jeron Robinson was second with 2.24m.

Jamaican Kerron Stewart ran 11.41s for 4th place in the women’s 100m. Ewa Swoboda of Poland won the event in 11.23.

Jamaican Odayne Richards finished sixth in the men’s shot put with 19.90. European champion Michal Haratyk won with 21.33m.

Ivet Lalova-Collio of Belgium and Crystal Emmanuel of Canada, both tied for second with 11.31s.

Caster Semenya, the South African middle-distance hero, won the women’s 400m in 50.06s.
