St. Jago High School leads three Jamaican teams into the Championship of American High School Girls 4x400m relay final, scheduled for Friday.
Genekee Leith led off St. Jago with 57.42. Tasheena Ewan (56.46), Shanice Rowe (55.96) and Andrenette Knight (56.71) did the rest for the Monk Street-based school.
Vere Technical High will go into the final as the third fastest with 3:50.65. Shanice Clarke (58.40), Rene Medley (56.33), Dalia Gayle (59.21) and Sanique Walker (56.72) were responsible for their place in the final.
Holmwood Technical High, thanks to the efforts of Lisa Buchanan (59.98), Ashley Williams (57.78), Xuxa Peart (57.15), Jonel Lacey (56.33), also booked their place with a time of 3:51.22.
Edwin Allen High will go into the final with the second slowest time – 3:51.75. The team members were Shannon Kalawan (57.76), Davia Smith (57.33), Kasheika Cameron (59.49) and Janiel Moore (57.20).
Excelsior High 4:06.07, Manchester High 3:58.70, Papine High 3:54.56, StETHS 3:52.77 and STATHS 3:55.09 failed to make progress.
