Levern Spencer was victorious yet again, claiming another Sportswoman of the Year title in Saint Lucia, as Youth & Sports Saint Lucia held its 37th annual Sports Awards Ceremony.

The nation’s most decorated athlete by a long way, 2016 Olympic finalist in women’s High Jump, and runner-up in the Diamond League, not to mention OECS champion and national champion, Levern was as deserving as ever.

Levern attended Entrepot Secondary School in Saint Lucia, then moved on to Albany State University and then the University of Georgia, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Health Promotion and Behavior, having first embarked upon a course of study in computer Science.

Cricketer Johnson Charles took the Sportsman of the Year award, just desserts after representing at the top of the order for the West Indies and Saint Lucia Zouks over the past year.

Johno’s junior counterprt, Johnel Eugene took his second straight Junior Sportsman of the Year gong, whilst swimmer Katie Kyle was named Junior Sportswoman of the Year for 2016.
