Rushell Clayton described as “awesome’ the feelings to win bronze in the women’s 400m hurdles at the IAAF World Athletics Championships Doha 2019 on Friday (4 Oct).
“It feels awesome, my first World Championships and to go home with a bronze medal, it’s just amazing, and a personal best, I can’t forget that, a personal best,” said a smiling Clayton.
Clayton ran a personal best 53.74s to finish behind
Delilah Muhammad, who lowered her world record from 52.20 to 52.16 and Sydney Mclaughlin, second in 52.23, also a personal best.
“I had that 53.7 written down on a piece of paper, I can not say it enough, and for it to come to life, its means so much, and it tells me once you work towards something, it’s achievable,” added Clayton.
