Shanieka Ricketts and Kimberly Williams achieved personal-best triple jump marks at Friday’s (28 May) Doha Diamond League meeting.

Ricketts, silver in the event at the Doha 2019 World Championships, hop-skip and jump 14.98m.

Williams’ personal best effort of 14.69m came on her fifth attempt.

Yulimar Rojas’ mark 15.15m is a new meeting record.

The top three jump-off.

Ricketts finished 3rd after fouling, while Williams’ 14.45m gave her second place in the top three jump-off. Rojas won with 15.11m.

Rai Benjamin of the USA ran a meeting record, 47.38secs, to win the men’s 400m hurdles. Alison dos Santos of Brazil finished a close second in the South American record 47.57.

British Virgin Islands’ Kyron McMasters finished third in 47.82.

Jamaican Natoya Goule achieved a season-best 1:59.70 to finish behind Faith Kipyegon of Kenya, 1:58.26 in the women’s 800m.

American Kenneth Bednarek was impressive in the men’s 200m, running 19.88secs (+0.4m/s wind) to beat Canadian Andre de Grasse, 19.89.
American Justin Gatlin finished fifth in 20.49.

Femi Ogunode of Qatar won the men’s 100m dash in 10secs flat ahead of Mahamat Goubaye Youssouf, 10.25.
