Preparations are in full swing for Cayman Islands annual Fidelity Cross Island Relays slated for early next month. A record Ninety One (91) teams participated in last year’s edition of the relays and as such, the organizers are anticipating even more participants for the event slated for February 1.

The race will begin near Colliers Beach in East End at 6:00am and finishes at Smith’s Cove in South Sound, with awards presented there at 10 a.m.

Participating teams are made up of six runners, who each run a four-mile leg. The spokesman for the organizers’ Hash House Harriers Running Club Paul Schreiner is already receiving entries from teams.

He purports that “The participation in 2014 exceeded our expectations. Each year we are continually impressed by the solid turnout, and this year we anticipate we will see the greatest number of entrants ever.”

The first five teams in the Open division, the first three teams in the Ladies Only division, and the first three teams in the corporate division, will all be awarded Trophies where all six runners must work at the same company.
