Meanwhile, Cubie Seegobin said they have also started discussions with top Jamaicans athletes for the meet, which will be two weeks before the Jamaican Championships.
The meet, set for June 13, 2020, the same day as the Paris Diamond League, but organizers are pleased with the date.
Seegobin, a member of the Racers Grand Prix organizing committee, explained: “That tells you how important out meet is to the circuit.”
Asked by host of the CVM show Wayne Walker if this means they will have to work hard to get quality athletes, a confident Seegobin replied: “We don’t have to work hard, first of all, it was the date we selected, and then the Diamond League came out with their dates.”
Seegobin continued: “We said to the IAAF, we going the 13th, if you want us in the tour, that’s the date we are going to be, and we were given the date to go up against the Paris meet.”
Seegobin was also asked ‘why did you take it (date)’ to which he replied, “because we already have commitments of athletes to come to our meet.
