KINGSTON, Jamaica – Former world 100m record holder Asafa Powell and Sherone Simpson have submitted entiries to compete at next week’s Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA)/Supreme Ventures National Senior Championships.

Both sprinters have not competed since last June's (at Trials) positive test for the banned stimulant oxilofrine. They were suspended in April, but appealed their 18-month bans to the Swiss-based CAS, which on Wednesday upheld the application for a “stay of the execution” giving them the chance to compete immediately.

The sprinters, who at the time trained with MVP’s head coach Stephen Francis, submitted their entries on Wednesday via online application to the JAAA secutariat.

Powell tweeted on Tuesday “I look forward to my day in Court. Until then see u on a track!”

The National Trials is set for June 26-29 while the Commonwealth Games will be held in Glasgow, Scotland from July 23 to August 3.
