The Class 4 girls 70m hurdles will be added to the schedule at the 36th staging of the MILO Western Relays to be held at the Montego Bay Sports Complex, on February 8th.

Meet Director Ray Harvey announced that the decision to add the event was due to requests from several coaches and the unfortunate cancellation of the Central Hurdles and Relays meet.

“Development must be part of what we do here at MILO Western Relays,” Harvey said “and if there is a need for an event and we can fit it into our schedule, we will do our best to ensure that we assist the athletes as much as we can.”

Last year MILO Western Relays added five sprint hurdle races to the schedule of events, High School Boys Classes 1, 2 and 3 and Girls Class 1 and 2 after similar requests from coaches, especially those in Western Jamaica, following the cancellation of the Mannings Development Meet where the athletes would have normally had a chance to contest the hurdles events.

The meet will be launched at a press conference at Wexford Hotel on Wednesday, January 22nd, starting at 10:00am where the details of the meet will be outlined.
