Mike Sands, the newly elected President of North America, Central America and the Caribbean (NACAC) Track and Field Association, is having a series of consultations across the area.
Sands will meet with NACAC Vice President, Catherine Jordan, who is also President of the Barbados AAA. The two will discuss developments emanating from the most recent meetings and visits by the President.
On Tuesday, 28 January, Sands and Secretary-General, Keith Joseph, went to Guyana for a site visit and series of meetings with Aubrey Hutson, President of the Member Federation and his Executive. They also met with government officials.
Guyana has been awarded the rights to host the 50th edition of the annual Carifta Games in 2021.
NACAC President, Mike Sands, attended the Annual National Juvenile Championships of Trinidad and Tobago. At the event, he was in the company of the President of the NAAA, Ephraim Serrette, who is also the Treasurer of NACAC.
Sands was introduced to members of the NAAA Executive in attendance as well as many of the competition’s officials and young athletes.
President Sands, Secretary-General, Keith Joseph, and Treasurer, Ephraim Serrette, seized the opportunity to convene a meeting on some of the matters arising from the NACAC Executive Meeting held in Nassau, Bahamas, on Monday 13 January. 2020.
President Sands and Secretary-General, Keith Joseph, joined Serrette, the Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee and CANOC President and officials of both organizations in celebrating the Trinidad and Tobago International Marathon (TTIM), which started in Freeport and ended at the Queen’s Park Savannah.
The NACAC Executive members were introduced to the gathering at the finish area and again at the Awards Ceremony following the conclusion of the big event.
