Bahamian relay Olympic winner Michael Mathieu won the men's 400m Friday's Nebraska Tune-Up here in Lincoln, Nebraska. Mathieu ran 47.18 to top the field in the men's one lap event ahead of Durawn Howard of Wayland Baptist (48.01).
Jamaican Jura Levy topped the women's 60m field in 7.47secs. Omoyi Ugiagbe-English, who later took the 200m in 24.58, was second in the 60m with 7.53. Jeffrey Fraley of Missouri Southern was the men's 60m winner in 6.76.
Barbados' junior Akela Jones cleared national junior mark 1.87m in the high jump and also improved to 8.30secs over the hurdles. Jones beat Melissa-Mare Farrington of Nebraska (8.61) in the hurdles and Marusa Cernjul (1.77m) in the high jump.
Meanwhile, over in Allendale, USA – Adam Harris clocked at this Tune Up meet two national records for Guyana in the 60m. In heats 6.57 and in the finals 6.55.
