Noah Lyles again stamped his claim on the men's 200m with another impressive display at Friday's (5 July) Lausanne Diamond League meeting.

Americans Noah Lyles and Sydney Mclaughlin produced big performances at Thursday’s (29 Aug) Diamond League Final in Zurich.

Lyles beat a big field to win the men’s 100m, an event he is expected to skip in Doha, in 9.98s. Chinese Xie Zhenye finished second in 10.04.

Jamaican Yohan Blake, who said he will be ready for Doha 2019, ended third in 10.08. Justin Gatlin finished 4th in 10.08.

In the women’s 400m hurdles, McLaughlin destroyed fellow Americans Shamier Little and newly crowned world record holder Dalilah Muhammad to win in a season-best 52.85.

Little, despite her 4th place finish at the US Trials, should make the team with her 53.86 for second today. It means the USA is likely to accept the wild card for McLaughlin which would free up a place for Little.

Muhammad finished third in 54.13.

Jamaican Janieve Russell ended 7th in 55.87.
