LAUSANNE – World 200m champion Noah Lyles believes Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce can break the world 100m record.

Speaking at the Lausanne press conference, the two-time American world 200m champion said: “I heard that she said she wanted to break the world record this year. I’m like, yeah, I can see that.

“Consistently dropping 10 seconds or 10.6 almost every race, and that’s very scary. Because any time you see someone run a time that’s almost the exact same time very consistently every race, that means they’re about to make a huge drop,” said Lyles.

Who is the women’s 100m world record holder? The world’s fastest woman

Fraser-Pryce personal best is 10.60, and the world record held by Florence Griffith Joyner (Flo-Jo) is 10.49.

The Wanda Diamond League continues with a whole host of world and European champions set to compete on the shores of Lake Geneva.

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Shericka Jackson, and Elaine Thompson-Herah will face-off in the women’s 100m dash. Erriyon Knighton, Tobi Amusan, Noah Lyles and Mutaz Essa Barshim are among those who will be in action.
