Noah Lyles and Aleia Hobbs both triumphed in the 60m event, with Lyles holding off 2016 world indoor champion Trayvon Bromell by just 0.002 after both crossed the line in 6.51secs.
Hobbs also had a strong performance, breaking the meeting record with a 7.02 run and coming in second on the all-time world list.
Femke Bol Shatters 17-Year-Old World Indoor Best in 500m
Femke Bol made a statement in the women’s 500m by breaking the 17-year-old world indoor best with a time of 1:05.63. Local stars Heather MacLean and Neil Gourley grabbed last-minute wins in the mile, while Woody Kincaid claimed the 3000m triumph with his signature kick.
Mariano Garcia also became a back-to-back winner in the 800m.
Grant Holloway Continues 60m Hurdles Win Streak at New Balance Grand Prix
Grant Holloway continued his impressive 60m hurdles win streak, with a 0.01 faster time in the final.
In the men’s 400m, Noah Williams beat world indoor champion Jereem Richards by four-thousandths of a second, both athletes recording 45.88. Olympic 200m bronze medallist Gabby Thomas won the 300m, clocking 36.31 for her fifth consecutive win at the meeting.
Shericka Jackson and Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone Make 60m Debut at New Balance Grand Prix
World 200m champion Shericka Jackson and world 400m hurdles record-holder Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone both made their 60m debut, running times of 7.34 and 7.33, respectively. Aleia Hobbs won the event in 7.02 for a new meeting record.
